Born in Japan, Asami Horie is a professional Japanese hair & makeup artist familiar with all aspects of media makeup: fashion, editorial and movies.

Her interest in the artistry of makeup began in childhood and led to her attending beauty school. During her school career, she actively participated in and organized fashion and hair shows.

Through working in several hair salons, she built up her skills and techniques.

At the age of 21, she started her career as a hair & makeup artist.

She is now a freelance hair & make-up artist working in TV commercials and print publications. She also specializes in the art of dressing in traditional Japanese Kimonos and hair styling.

Her education and training, along with her affable personality gives her clients the detail-oriented, enthusiasm and multi-faceted professionalism that adds to the success of any project, working within the production budget and schedule, regardless of the nature, scale or location.

In her view, the hair & makeup artists job is much more than just making clients beautiful. She would like to help them find themselves and accentuate their inner beauty and sense of self-confidence in addition to their outward appearance. She feels that the process of making-up is as important as the result.

Now, she is in London and is enjoying refining her international communication and hair & make-up skills.
